Semi-solid state batteries are far safer than traditional lithium-ion batteries. Their gel-like composition offers improved energy density, with far less risk of thermal runaway. That translates to improved range and longevity from a more compact battery that's unlikely to catch fire when left charging overnight in your house or business.
